2000 mercury wont run when it rains?

Have 2000 Mercury Villager. It runs fine except when it rains . Wont run
when it rains. Dealer said nothing Wrong any Ideas??

Im thinking of buying a 97 Taurus that needs a tranny.Can it be taken out

Wards Auto has list the new 3.5L V6 Duratec as one of the ten Best engines
for 2007.

Now all Ford needs to do is put it more of its cars.
The day they put it into the 500 I will go out and buy one.. It is that
simple.. no if, and or buts…!

iPod for '99 Taurus

I just bought a used ’99 Taurus and am looking at different options for
listening to my iPod in the car. FM transmitters don’t work so well as
I am in Seattle and there doesn’t seem to be enough "empty space" in
the radio frequencies to get a clear signal. I do have a cassette
deck, and the cassette adapter does work pretty well. I am curious,
though, as to my other options. It seems like something like this:

would work pretty well, as my car does not have a CD changer installed
but it seems as if it was set up for one (there is a "CD" button on my
radio).

Anyway, my question: I know nothing about cars, wiring, etc. How
difficult would it be for someone with zero prior knowledge to install
one of these? I am assuming that the end result would be an aux in in
the dashboard area somewhere, where I could plug my iPod in directly.

Any help that you could give me, either as to the difficulty of such a
task as well as other options I might have for listening to my tunes in
my new car, would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hybrid proving ground aka Escape USPS edition

I wonder why noone at Ford have thought of cutting a cylinder or two
out
of the hybrid from Escape, stick it into JDM Mazda Tribute, put the
usps truck
shell on top and sell to the USPS by a boatload?
The NYC taxi project did not pan out or they can’t compete with the
pricing
for the trucks that usps gets now?

Disclaimer:
I don’t own a ford in general and Escape in particular and have no
interest
in buying a hybrid myself within foreseable future, but am a curious
beast.

2002 Taurus Electronic Climate Control

My Taurus is acting up a little strange lately. It’s electronic climate control is not working properly like it should. The windshield defroster is taking "forever" to defrost my windshield in temperatures below 25 degrees Fahrenheit. The defroster would not defrost my side windows. There is insufficient heat or AC on the floor or around the car. The rear defroster is working fine. Could it be the thermostat in the electronic climate control be causing the problem? If so, what would be the estimated cost of servicing it since my car is currently out of warranty?

Flywheel Installation

Is there a way to determine how to align the flywheel on installation?
Ie. Where the counterweight needs to be in relation to the harmonic
counterweight? or in relation to TDC on #1 or anything like that? Or am
I stuck pulling the crank and sending it to a shop to determine where
the counterweight needs to be?

94 5.0 wont charge

just replaced the alternator and i’m not getting a charge. the battery,
and wires and connections are good. is the voltage regulator part of
the alternator or is it a seperate unit? could it be the pcm?

2002 mecury villager heater blower speed contol resistor

My 2002 mecury villager (same as nissan quest) from the time it was
new would blow out the heater blower speed control resistor approx.
every six months. Now they are only lasting a couple of weeks untill
they fail. My friend has the same van purchased at the same time and
he has the same problem. Is anyone aware of this problem and the
solution? Thanks>
