How do you find out why the gages do not work in a 1993 ford ranger xlt
3.0. All the lights work. Also why some times the head lights go off and
off but not all the time. Thank you for your help

I have Mercury Sable 1995 3.8 liter engine and automatic transaxle. Few
months ago I replaced head gaskets and now I fill some changes. When I
drive and stop (depress brake) and then start again (release brake) car
moves even without touching gas pedal, faster than was.
How can I adjust to make it slower.

Hey guys,
                Thanks a lot for your help and advice, it’s much
appreciated. The yo-yo who changed the gears in the diff set it up with the
exact same pinion and side shims and didn’t adjust anything. Judging by the
wear marks on the pinion, I’ll be able to add .010 of pinion shim and
everything should fall in to…reasonable place. I’ll check my gear contact
patern once it’s set up and go from there. Like you said Jim, we’ve all seen
some howl when the shouldn’t and some not when they should. On another note.
It’s too bad there’s some real freakin’ a++holes that get off on posting
crap in the groups. Anyways, thanks for all the input and I’ll let you guys
know how it goes.

P.S.  If you guys ever need some GM (ouch) info, don’t hesitate.

Is there anyway to visually tell the difference between a 71 and 72
detuned engine.  I recently bought this car thinking it had the 240 hp
engine but when I went to get a new air cleaner, the 71 cleaner was too
big (thats what the autozone computer called for).  the air cleaner for
72 fit.   which engine do I have?  thanks for any help.
