i have a 95 escort . the fan runs as soon as the ignition is turned on. ac
is off. defroster is off . changed coolant temp sensor. what else could it
be.

Last week when the temperature drop below 20 degree C (-11.2F) plus wind
chill, my car won’t
start, it does crank over but won’t fire up. I left the car alone for
several days outside at work then have it towed to a garage today.  Well
they got the car started but also said, there is no problem with the car?
Battery is still good! This has happened twice to me this year.
In general, what does garage typically do when they have solve a cold
starting problem?

can anyone advise where to find the timing marks on the zetec 1600 16valve
(1998engine)I changed my timing belt but must have done something to the
ohc settings. How do I make sure the setting is correct. Right now my
engine runs unease.

Hi All,

I bought my wife a UK ’93 1.1LX Fiesta with an HCS engine. I’ve now found
out it has an internittent starting problem. Sometimes it starts great first
time
and runs without problems. But sometimes it just refuses to start at all! It
doesn’t
even try and start unless the throttle is fully down and even then doesn’t
quite
manage it.

When it finally does run again, after a day or more sometimes if we’ve
flattened the
battery trying, it starts and runs and drives perfectly again.

I’ve checked the plugs and gaps. When the problem is there, there appears to
be a
good spark. The engine compression is fine. The air filter is new. It has
what looks
like a carb but is a fuel injection system I’m told. Can anyone give me an
idea what
to look at or check next?

I don’t want to take it to a garage and spend tonnes of money unless I can
help it!
The fault seems to occur in the mornings only, when the engine is cold.

Can I replace the crankshaft on a 3.8 94 Sable without removing the engine
from the car? Removing the oil pan in not so dificult.
